President Joe Biden has nominated a Vermont judge who played a key role in paving the way for legalization of same-sex marriage to become the first openly LGBT woman to serve in the Federal Circuit.
The White House announced on Thursday that Byden will bring Beth Robinson, a quasi-judge of the Vermont Supreme Court since 2011, to the Federal Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Court territory includes Connecticut, New York, and Vermont.
