Srinagar: Federal Minister of Commerce and Industry (I & C) of Srinagar today met with representatives of various industry groups in Kashmir at SKICC in Srinagar.
The delegation consisted of representatives from the Federal Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kashmir (FCIK), the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce (KCCI), the PHD Chamber of Commerce (PHDCCI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce. And industry (FICCI).
In the dialogue, the representative highlighted various issues related to the industrial sector with the Minister. They demanded that the new industrial scheme should be extended to existing industrial unit holders. They also demanded the possession of businessmen with capital injections, in addition to temporary mitigation to solve NPA and other problems.
Representatives also demanded interest subsidies for the next five years and fixed electricity tariffs for the industry over the next five years, in addition to SIBAL and credit rating easing in Kashmir’s industrial sector.
They also demanded a revision of the Kashmir industrial zone and the declaration of the entire Kashmir region as Zone B. The area is industrially rearward due to lack of rail connections, bad weather and very little access to the market.
During the dialogue with the representatives, the federal minister is committed to the revival and possession of the Jammu and Kashmir industrial unit by the central government, in which direction the government is for the costly industrial development of Jammu and Kashmir.
