India’s gold prices witnessed a sharp fall again on Thursday, tracking overseas markets. On the Multicommodity Exchange (MCX), the August gold contract fell 0.47% to 47,450 rupees at 10 grams in 0928 hours on July 22nd. Another precious metal, silver, was also put in the tank on Thursday. Silver September future rose 0.97% on July 22 to 67,036 rupees per kilogram.
In the international market, Thursday’s gold price fell near lows for more than a week. As of 0313 Greenwich Mean Time, spot gold was down 0.3% to $ 1,798.27 per ounce. US gold futures were down 0.3% to $ 1,798.70 per ounce, according to Reuters.
