Soul: Samsung recently hosted the Galaxy Unpacked event (Part 2) after South Korea’s tech giant launched its third-generation foldable display smartphone in August.
The event was held on Wednesday. At Galaxy Unpacked Event 2, the company unveiled the “Bespoke Edition” Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphone. GSM Arena reports that no new products have been launched and only a special version of the same device has been announced.
Samsung also launched the Galaxy Watch 4 smartwatch and the Galaxy Bad 2 TWS earphones. Both of these products are the result of a collaboration between Samsung and fashion brand Maison Kitsuné. In addition, Samsung announced the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 mobile OS for mobile phones.
The main announcements from the event are:
1.1. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition: Remember how Samsung offered the option to customize the hinge cover on the Galaxy Z Fold2? Well, we’ve extended that idea with the new Bespoke Studio, which starts with the Galaxy Z Flip3 Bespoke Edition.
Galaxy Bespoke Studio lets you choose the color of the front, back and frame of your phone. Currently, you can choose between black and silver for the frame. Front and back options are available in blue, pink, yellow, white and black. Note that the camera island remains black no matter which option you choose.
Overall, this allows you to choose from 49 color combinations (note that some color combinations overlap with existing Z Flip 3 paint jobs, according to Samsung counts). Later, you have the option to buy a new panel and replace the panel that came with your phone (no, I haven’t heard anything about this applying to vanilla Z Flip3 phones).
2.2. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Bespoke Edition: The Galaxy Watch 4 series can also be customized with different colors, sizes and strap styles in Galaxy Watch 4 Bespoke Studio. In addition, software updates increase the chances of personalizing the Watch4 series.
3.3. Samsung and Maison Kitsuné Collaboration: Samsung has also partnered with fashion brand Maison Kitsuné to offer special editions of the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds2.
The Galaxy Watch 4 Kitsune Edition comes in one 40mm Bluetooth-only version with the Moonrock Beige-colored watch strap and the Fashion House signature Fox logo. It also comes with a second Stardust Gray color strap with the brand name on it.
The UI is also transformed with a special fox watch face. From the specs to the One UI Watch 3 interface on Wear OS, everything else is the same as a regular Galaxy Watch 4.
The Galaxy Buds 2 Maison Kitsune Edition is available in the same moonlock beige color as the limited edition Galaxy Watch 4, with Fox mascot sports parts on each bud. The charging case comes with a Stardust Gray leather case, but the sound and functionality are the same as the regular version.
The Galaxy Buds 2 Maison Kitsune Edition will sell for $ 249.99 and the Galaxy Watch 4 Maison Kitsune Edition will sell for $ 399.99. Both are sold in limited quantities in some markets.
Both come with an NFC card that allows you to install a special Maison Kitsune theme on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone. Samsung and Fox also collaborated on music playlists available to users.
4.4. What’s New in Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: In addition to the special editions of Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watch 4, and Galaxy Buds 2, Samsung has also announced new features in the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
These include improved fall detection, more watch face option customizations, new animations, and overhauled gesture controls, in addition to the custom customization options mentioned above.
Samsung also got a glimpse of One UI 4.0, which is based on Google’s Android 12 mobile OS.
