Salzburg beat Lokomotiv Moscow 3-1 in the Champions League

Moscow: Salzburg continued to have a faint hope of winning the Champions League knockout stage, beating Lokomotiv Moscow 3-1 on Tuesday.

The Austrian club outperformed Lokomotiv to take third place in Group A, but could be eliminated if Atletico Madrid beat Bayern Munich later on Tuesday. Salzburg will host Atletico next week in the final match of both clubs on the group stage.

Lokomotiv is fourth in the group and will have to beat Bayern next week to withstand the chances of qualifying.

Mergim Berisha gave Salzburg a 2-0 lead by half-time in the Russian capital, scoring the first goal with a loose ball when the other two shots were blocked, with a pass from Sékou Koita. I gave the second score.

Lokomotiv showed signs of a possible delay in comeback when substitute Anton Miranchuk scored a 79-minute penalty after teammate Zé Luís was pushed into the penalty area. However, Salzburg regained the advantage of two goals two minutes later when 18-year-old Karim Adeyemi scored.
