Faisal Faruki, a friend of legendary actor Dilip Kumar, took hold of the official Twitter account on Wednesday and announced that Kumar’s wife Saira Banu had agreed to close her account. Sharing a photo of the late iconic actor, Farooqui tweeted from @ TheDilipKumar’s Twitter handle. We look forward to your continued love and support. -Faithal Faruki “
After much debate and deliberation, with the consent of Sila Banu Ji, I decided to close this Twitter account of my beloved Dilip Kumar Serve. We look forward to your continued love and support. -Faisal Farooqui pic.twitter.com/NAabHe1DZu— DilipKumar (@TheDilipKumar) September 15, 2021
The tweet disappointed fans of legendary actors demanding to keep their accounts active. “Leave the account. Lock it. It’s important for history and heritage,” commented the fans. Another Pakistani fan said, “There are more options than closing this account. Just as you love @ TheDilipKumar, you love his memories, so make this account his own, especially # Share his clip to commemorate his life story about peshawar. “
Dilip Kumar was probably one of India’s oldest actors who had an active social media account and occasionally interacted with fans. Saira Banu and Falluki continued to use Twitter handles to keep fans of the actor up-to-date on his health and life. Then, on July 7, he died at the age of 98 after a prolonged illness.
Meanwhile, his wife complained of complications such as shortness of breath, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar, and was hospitalized on August 28. She was discharged earlier this month. Hospital doctors reportedly revealed that Padsan’s actor had been diagnosed with acute coronary syndrome, a heart disease.
