Honda will introduce a new subcompact SUV and a medium-sized SUV by 2023. The subcompact SUV is based on the new generation Jazz / Fit platform and replaces the current WR-V crossover. The Honda WR-V is currently sold in some international markets such as India and Brazil.
It is hoped that engine and gearbox options will be shared with the new jazz. The sub-compact SUV can be equipped with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine or a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine. The company also has the potential to launch a hybrid version of the next-generation WR-V. According to new media reports, Honda has abandoned its plans to introduce a subcompact SUV in India. This model is most likely to be introduced in the Japanese and South American markets comparable to Hyundai Venue, Toyota Raize and others.
Honda will also launch a new medium-sized SUV that has the potential to hit the market by 2023. The new model is based on the new City platform and is comparable to the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG. Astor.
