Do you actively share food photos on Instagram? According to a new study, people who post food images on Instagram to share their experiences may want more. This affects their waistline and leads to weight gain. The study found that 70% of millennials regularly share food images before meals. According to a study conducted by a US researcher at Georgia Southern University, diner who clicked on a meal photo and uploaded it to social media took a long time to feel full. The majority of them preferred the second serving.

Previously, some studies shared that posting food images on social media can improve the taste of food. This is because taking pictures allows the brain to focus on the smell and taste of food.

According to a new study published in the journal Appetite, the team recruited 145 students to carry out the study. The students were further divided into two groups and given a plate of cheese crackers. But half was told to stop and take a picture first. Immediately after eating cheese crackers, volunteers were asked to assess how much they liked the food and if they wanted more.

It turns out that the person who took the picture had a high score in terms of fun and wanted a second serving. Studies have shown that taking pictures has changed the way the brain recognizes food and has increased student cravings.

Researchers commented that the act of recording food memory and consumption can affect the amount of food we eat. “Our results show that taking pictures leads to a greater desire for food after consumption,” they said. The effect was more common with volunteers given small doses

Researchers have said that people who eat small amounts want to reduce calories and should not take pictures of what they are eating.
