More than Rs 80,000 beneficiaries were vaccinated and 82 AEFIs were reported by the end of the fifth day

While countries around the world are asking India for access to vaccines, a section in the country “promotes suspicion of misinformation and narrow political objectives,” said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. According to a statement from the Ministry of Health, 82 post-vaccination adverse events (AEFIs) were reported until 6 pm on January 20, the fifth day of the vaccination drive, due to vaccination to date. There are no cases of severe / severe AEFI.

Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan each reported one AEFI and all were discharged.

Of the four AEFIs in Delhi, three were discharged and one was monitored at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Shahdara.

Of the two AEFIs reported in Karnataka, one was discharged and the other was monitored at a district hospital in Chitradurga.

To date, a single AEFI in West Bengal has been monitored at the Subdivision Hospital in Genjipra, Murshidabad.
