Toronto: The Toronto Maple Leafs had a TikTok decal on their helmet Wednesday night for the season opener against the Montreal Canadiens.
The team’s parent company announced a deal with TikTok early Wednesday, displaying the social media platform logo on player helmets throughout the season.
According to Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, the one-year contract with the video sharing service also includes in-arena and digital branding, TikTok-inspired concession items, and further collaboration with other sports facilities.
The NHL added an ad for the helmet last season, and the board unanimously approved the jersey sponsor patch starting next season.
The NBA began selling jersey sponsorships in 2017-18, when Nike became the official apparel company for the league.
