Korean girl group aespa’s first EP “Savage” debuts on Billboard 200 in 20th place | K-POP movie news

Eleven months after their debut, South Korea’s emerging girl group aespa first appeared on Billboard’s main album charts. Its first EP, Savage, debuted at number 20, Billboard said on Sunday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, “Savage” ranked 20th on the Billboard 200 chart this week, the music album ranking service said on its Twitter account. According to SM Entertainment, the group’s management agency, it is the highest rank achieved in the first album of the K-POP girl group.

The Billboard 200 ranks the most popular albums of the week in the United States. It is measured on an equivalent album basis consisting of physical album sales and other digital sales records. The new album, when released earlier this month, surpassed the real-time charts of various domestic music streaming services.

Over the past few months, Korean pop groups such as BTS, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN and Twice have claimed their spots on Billboard’s music charts. While BTS broke several years of record, BLACKPINK’s Lisa also became the first female solo artist to defeat Drake and take the top spot on her new hit single “Money.”
