India will receive its first J & J Covid vaccine in October, sources said Health News and ETHealthWorld.

New Delhi: India will receive the first Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine starting next month, will be filled in India by a partner of a US pharmaceutical company, and will be terminated, sources with knowledge of this issue. Told Reuters on Monday.

According to sources, 43.5 million single vaccinations could be received in October, a major step towards achieving India’s goal of more than 300 million vaccinations per month.

India is the largest vaccine manufacturing center in the world. After satisfying its own needs, it plans to resume exports, which was suspended in April.

Last month, Indian drug regulators granted an emergency permit to the J & J vaccine, whether imported by J & J’s Indian partner Biological E or locally filled and finished.

However, the Government of India has not yet signed a supply contract with J & J.

“J & J doses are expected from next month,” said a source who couldn’t be named because he wasn’t allowed to talk to the media. “BioE prescribes and makes a 5 ml vial.”

The Indian Ministry of Health did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

A spokeswoman for J & J India said, “It’s too early to guess when the vaccine will be delivered.”
