Mumbai: India defeated New Zealand with 372 runs in the second and final tests to seal Series 1-0 here on Monday.
New Zealand resumed the day 5 to 140, folding to 167 in two innings after India set a goal of 540 runs for the mammoth. Darryl Mitchell was New Zealand’s top scorer with a 60-run knock.
Indian off-spinner Jayant Yadav was selected as a bowler on the fourth day, ending with a number of four at 49.
Mayank Agarwal was the most memorable match in New Zealand’s Ajazz Patel’s 10-wicket innings, recording 100 battles and becoming the third bowler to do this.
The first test ended with a draw.
India: 325 and 276 for the seven declared cases.
