The Hyundai i20N line is available in three variations: the N6 iMT, the N8 iMT, and the N8 DCT.

The long-awaited Hyundai i20N line has finally been announced, and it’s essentially a sportier avatar for the i20 premium hatchback. This is the entry point for Hyundai’s N-line division in India and is only available in the beyond-range 1.0-liter GDI Turbo iMT and DCT iterations. Currently, Hyundai has not yet announced the price of the i20 N line, but it has begun accepting pre-orders for the £ 25,000 token amount and will only be sold through Hyundai retailers.

The Hyundai i20N line also looks sporty on the inside.

The N-line update is limited to appearance changes and offers a racy sporty attitude. It also captures readjusted steering geometry to improve feedback and enhance suspension setup by 30%. The front end features a new cascade grille with matt black elements and the N-line logo. The aesthetic is then accentuated by a new, more muscular front bumper with sharp lines and edges that harmonize with its sporty look. And with sportier alloy wheels and sleek side skirts, it complements the front bumper diffuser. Dimensionally, the i20N line remains the same as a regular i20. The total length remains 3,995 mm, the width remains 1,775 mm, and the height remains 1,505 mm. The wheelbase of the car will stand unchanged at 2,580mm.

Similarly, internal updates match the sporty look of the car. You get a black cabin with black decoration on the seats, and you can also see the red double stitching on all the soft surfaces. The new flat-bottomed steering wheel is also wrapped in leather and has the same red stitching. Finally, there’s a prominent N-line badge on the seat, N-inspired gear knobs, and aluminum pedals. The feature list is the same as the Asta trim, which goes beyond the standard i20 Turbo, with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, modern Bluelink connected car technology, and a premium Bose surround sound system. Features the comfort of creatures such as wireless charging, automatic climate, among others, control, cruising control and ambient lighting.

In terms of safety features, the new i20 N line also comes with disc brakes for all four wheels, electronic stability control, hill assist control and vehicle stability management. Other features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, emergency stop light, ISOFIX, rear parking camera with sensor, seatbelt reminder and more. The Hyundai i20N line is powered by a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder GDi turbo gasoline engine tuned to output 118bhp at 6,000rpm and 172Nm at 1,500-4,000rpm. As already mentioned, transmission options include a 6-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT) and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). The DCT version performs a 0-100kmph sprint in 9.9 seconds.
