Before the advent of eKYC, which used fingerprint authentication to get a new SIM card, it wasn’t too difficult for a scammer to get a SIM card issued in someone’s name. To enhance security from theft of personal information, the Telecommunications Bureau recently launched a portal that allows Aadhaar owners to see SIM cards issued in their name. This portal is called Telecom Analytics (TAFCOP) for Fraud Control and Consumer Protection. You can see the list of mobile numbers issued in your name by following a few simple steps.
The portal provides functionality to users by letting subscribers know how many connections they have. Users can access the portal and report numbers that are no longer in use or needed. The communication service provider then blocks or deactivates the number.
step 1: Go to the TAFCOP portal — https://tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in/
Step 2: Make sure you have entered the correct address. When the input field appears in the center of the home page, click the “Get OTP” button.
Step 3: Soon, I will get an OTP from the DOT. Enter the OTP and click the Validate button.
Step 4: If the OTP verification is successful, you will see a list of issued mobile numbers along with Aadhaar details. Note that if the number is activated as a corporate connection, all mobile phones associated with the connection will be listed.
Step 5: Look carefully at the numbers. If you do not notice any of them, or if you no longer use the number, you can report it to the telecommunications bureau from the portal itself.
Step 6: To report the number, select the checkbox to the left of the number and click “This is not my number” if you do not remember purchasing the number. “Unnecessary” option for numbers that are no longer needed.
Step 7:Finally,[レポート]Click the button.
If the name does not contain inactive or suspicious numbers, you do not need to report them. Now that we have a portal dedicated to this service, we recommend that you check your number regularly whenever you use your Aadhaar card with an external agency.
