Japanese car maker Honda is ready to introduce a whole new car in Indonesia on September 21, 2021. Teaser suggests that the new model will be a production-ready Honda N7X 7-seater SUV that is rumored to be called-gen Honda BR-V. The SUV was scheduled to be announced at GIIAS in 2021. The Honda Roadshow exhibited N7X 7-seater SUVs in several cities in Indonesia. According to the company, SUVs have received positive feedback from the general public. A new SUV, internally called the DG3, will be available in multiple variations. In the Indonesian market, the new Honda N7X-based SUV is comparable to Toyota Avanza, Daihatsu Xenia, Suzuki XL7 and others.
The 3-row SUV is claimed to offer the best SUV and MPV body styles and is suitable for all types of road conditions. It shares the platform and mechanism with the city sedan. It is reportedly powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder natural gasoline engine that also powers the city sedan. The engine produces 121bhp of output and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options may include 6-speed manual and CVT automatic.
SUVs also have access to fuel-efficient hybrid powertrains. It is also available on city sedans in some Asian markets. Indonesian media The new model is offered in 4 trim levels – S, E, Prestige and Prestige HS. The entry level trim comes with a manual gearbox only, and the high level trim comes with an optional CVT unit.
The new Honda N7X 7-seater SUV also employs Honda Sensing (HS) technology, the brand’s in-house developed advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). It provides functions such as collision mitigation braking system, road deviation mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist system, traffic sign recognition, Honda lane watch, blind spot detection, and automatic high beam headlights.
The production of the N7X looks the same as the concept model. Comes with an SUV-like profile with a sloping roofline. The SUV features a bonnet, thick chrome bars on the signature front grille, LED headlamps, dual LED DRL setups, wide air dams, faux kid plates and brushed aluminum inserts. The new SUV features a large greenhouse area, strong belt lines, round wheel arches with black plastic cladding, and split LED tail lamps. The interior of the new Honda N7X is similar to the city sedan.
