World Wildlife Day 2021: Take this day as an inspiration and adopt a more natural lifestyle that also helps your health.

On World Wildlife Day, it is important to remember that technological advances not only change our lives, but we remain part of nature and depend on it to survive. This opportunity reminds us that nature conservation is paramount to the health of our planet and the survival of the creatures that inhabit it. The imminent threat of climate crisis and global warming is revealing daily how short-sighted human activity threatens nature and its natural ways.

Take this day as an inspiration and adopt a more natural lifestyle that also helps your health.

Go hiking and trekking instead of becoming a member of the gym trapped in a concrete building with intimidating machinery. You can take a walk in the park or, if you’re lucky, walk in the woods and mountains on weekends.

Include more organic and natural produce in your diet. Instead of buying superfoods, protein powders and other supplements, buy from your local farm to help organic farmers. Balance your diet, with more fruits and vegetables and less grains. Also include meat and healthy fats.

Take the hobby of reconnecting you with nature. Stay away from your smartphone or laptop and enjoy more ground hobbies such as gardening and feeding stray dogs. You can also openly read a book and meditate.

Participate in activities to interact with members of the community who share the same love for nature as you. Plan and carry out fun activities that bring you back to nature with your fellow members. Instead of sending a text message to the WhatsApp group, go out and meet the actual group.

Start activities that benefit the natural creatures around you. Keep a bird feeding stand with some groceries for birds near your home. Plant flowers for bees and observe their activity. A 2016 survey shows that these activities can significantly improve a person’s well-being.
