Haridwar is ready for the second royal bath in Mahakumbu on Monday under the COVID-19 protocol amid the alarming situation of coronavirus cases in Uttarakhand.

Sanjay Gunjyal spoke with ANI of Haridwar Kumbh Mela, Commissioner-General of Police, saying that the second and third royal baths will be held every other day this year. “The first bath will be held on March 11th on the occasion of Mahashivratri, the second will be held on April 12th and April 14th, and the third royal bathing will be done by 13 ahadas,” IG said. Said on Sunday.

The IG also announced that the 13 Akhadas processions would be carried through highways where vehicles are not allowed to move. “There is a zero zone on the highway, and vehicles are not allowed to travel on routes other than queues,” he said.

At Bramha Kund, ordinary believers can take a bath until 7 am, after which no one can take a bath as it is reserved for Akhadas. The royal bath lasts until the evening. Other believers are allowed to sacredly flood other ghats, he added.

Uttarakhand reported 1,233 new COVID-19 cases, 317 recovery and 3 deaths on Saturday. The total number is 1,07,479 until Saturday. The state had 6,241 active cases and 1,752 deaths until Saturday. The state’s total recovery rate was 97,644.
