Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu did a nimble job for Danish badminton player Line Christophersen on a straight set to advance to the third round of the women’s singles event at the French Open 2021 on Thursday. Won.
The third seeded Sindhu beat Christophersen, who ranked 24th in the world, 21-1921-9 in 37 minutes late Thursday night.
The active world champion will face Thailand’s eighth-seeded Busananong Bangrunfan in the quarterfinals on Friday.

The fifth-seeded Satwick Syrajiran Kireddi and Chiragshetti’s men’s double spare also defeated MR Arjun and Dulfkapila 15-21 21-10 21-19 in an all-Indian clash to reach the quarterfinals.
The duo then meets Aaron Chia and Wooi Yak Saw’s fourth-seeded Malaysian pair.
However, the men’s singles Sorab Verma declined the match after losing to Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto 12-21 9-21 in the second round.
On Thursday, the young Lakshasen set sail for the third round of the Super 750 event with a comfortable victory over Singapore’s Rokinyu.
