Federal Minister Gouda visited Gorakhpur’s fertilizer plant and said it would start operations by the end of June.

GORAKHPUR (UP): Union Minister of Chemical Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda visited Gorakhpur’s fertilizer plant on Thursday and said the unit would be operational earlier than planned by the end of June.

Federal ministers accompanied Uttar Pradesh’s Prime Minister Yogia di Tianas during his visit to the Hindustan Ulbarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) plant.

In praise of the prime minister, Mr Gouda said the state has made more progress in the last three to four years than it has been in 70 years since independence.

“I came here as Minister of Railroads in 2014 and am now amazed at the progress in Gorakhpur. The Prime Minister is following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of self-reliant India,” said the Federal Minister. ..

The prime minister said he wanted to minimize imports and make India self-reliant, adding that 800,000 to 900,000 tonnes of fertilizer are currently being imported.

However, the minister said imports of these would decline after five new fertilizer units, each with a production capacity of 12.57 lactones, went live.

“98% of the work at the Gorakhpur fertilizer plant has been completed, which will bring jobs to 1,000 to 1,500 people inside and outside the plant and drive economic growth in the region,” said Gowda.

He added that the Ramagundam plant will be operational from June to July, and the Sindri and Barauni plants will be operational by the end of December.

“Purvanchal farmers are supplied with urea in a timely manner and our department is working on a plan to transfer the benefits of the subsidy directly to the farmers’ accounts,” federal ministers said.

He said the factory would create great employment opportunities. “Prime Minister Modi plans to open two separate centers, Varanasi and Ayodhya, by the end of this month,” Gouda added.

Federal ministers said urea sales increased 16% and NPK increased 40% during the COVID period.

At that time, Adityanas expressed satisfaction with the progress of the HURL plant, stating that an investment of Rs 8,000 in an “ultra-modern” plant would bring prosperity to the region.

He praised Prime Minister Modi for laying the cornerstone of the factory in 2016.

The state prime minister also expressed his commitment to cooperate with all development plans of the state’s central government.
