Encounter with Batra House: Court convicted Indian Mujahideen man for murdering assistant police officer MC Sharma

A court last Monday convicted Aris Khan, allegedly associated with the terrorist organization Indian Mujahideen, in the murder and other crimes of Mohan Chand Sharma, a Delhi police inspector associated with his encounter with the Batra House in 2008. Additional session Judge Sandeep Yadav said the evidence produced by the prosecution justified the case beyond reasonable doubt.

“It was justified that Ariz Khan and his associates killed police officers and fired bullets at them,” the judge said.

The court will hear a debate on the amount of judgment on March 15.

Sharma, an inspector of a special cell in Delhi, was killed during a 2008 encounter with the Batra House in Jamianagal, southern Delhi.

In July 2013, a court of first instance sentenced Indian Mujahideen terrorist Shahzad Ahmed to life imprisonment in connection with the case.

His appeal against the verdict of the Court of First Instance is pending in the High Court.

Ariz Khan escaped from the scene and was declared a criminal.

He was arrested on February 14, 2018 and faced a trial.
