Covid-19 Pandemic: Eight Oxygen Generation Plants in Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripla

Three municipal hospitals in Tula, Nongpoh and Jowai, Meghalaya, have made emergency oxygen supplies available to provide intensive care to critically ill COVID-19 patients. These plants utilize Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology to produce up to 800 liters of oxygen per minute.

With the support of the Government of Japan and UNDP, a total of eight oxygen production plants have been installed in the northeastern parts of Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura. These plants are capable of processing approximately 1,300 beds.
