Castrol India Announces Fourth Edition of Super Mechanic Contest – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Education News

Dehradun-India’s leading lubricant company, Castrol, has launched the Castrol Super Mechanic Contest (SMC), the fourth edition of the country’s largest and long-awaited mechanic skills initiative. Launched in 2017, this highly successful initiative will allow Indian car and cyclists to hone their skills, demonstrate their talents and become nationally recognized. The theme of this year’s contest, #SeekhengeJeetengeBadhengesalutes, expresses the passion and spirit of the mechanics who keep India moving and offers the opportunity to improve their skills with new technological advances in the automotive sector. Participating mechanics will test their skills with other mechanics across the country to emerge as Castrol Super Mechanics in 2021.
In an ongoing pandemic, the Super Mechanic Contest 2021 will leverage both physical and digital media to extend reach and maximize participation throughout the Indian mechanic community. We aim to have more than 100,000 mechanics in the contest. Registration for the contest is done through an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) round and a dedicated web portal with nine language options: English, Hindi, Bengali and Telugu. These include daily automated content that attracts participants by providing information about the contest, tips for cracking consecutive rounds to master the fastest fingers first, and potential rewards and perceptions that the winner will receive. In 2021, Castrol aims to quadruple the number of mechanics trained through masterclass compared to the number of mechanics trained in the 2019 contest. Throughout the Master Class session, Castrol will work with the Indian Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) to improve the certified skills of the finalist mechanics.
