BJP’s Vijay Sinha elected Chairman of the Bihar Parliament with 126 votes. RJD candidate loses with 12 votes

The vote was hurt by the turmoil caused by opposition members protesting the existence of Nitish Kumar because he was a member of the Legislative Council.

Patna: BJP MLA Vijay Kumar Sinha was elected chairman of the Bihar State Legislature by majority vote on Wednesday.

Shinha, a candidate for the ruling NDA, received 126 votes against 114, which was voted in favor of RJD’s Awadabi Hari Chaudary, which was protected by the opposition Grand Alliance.

The vote was hurt by the turmoil caused by opposition members protesting the presence of Prime Minister Nitish Kumar on the floor of the house because he was a member of the Legislative Council.

However, the chair dismissed the objection, saying that the prime minister’s existence was justified by being the leader of the house.

Opposition parties also demanded a secret ballot vote rejected by pro tempore Zidane Ram Manji, who promoted personnel after complaints were raised by opponents of the voice vote.

After that, the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers Tal Kishor Prasad and Renu Devi, and Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadaf escorted Shinha as chairman.
