Biden meets Pope Francis to discuss Covid-19, climate

Washington: President Joe Biden will meet Pope Francis on his visit to the Vatican later this month as part of a five-day swing between Italy and the United Kingdom for the World Economic and Climate Change Conference.
According to the White House, Biden will discuss the coronavirus pandemic, climate crisis and poverty during a meeting with the Pope. The conference will take place on October 29, and Biden will then attend the G20 Summit in Rome for two days before heading to Glasgow, Scotland for the United Nations Climate Change Conference known as COP26.
Biden, a Roman Catholic, often talks about his faith in public and attends Masses every weekend. However, his political views, including his support for the right to gay marriage and abortion, sometimes confronted him with Catholic doctrine and led to controversy and criticism from some Catholic church leaders.
Earlier this year, many Catholic bishops discussed denying the Biden communion for his support for the right to abortion, but ultimately setting any policy for politicians and the Eucharist. I quit.
