New Delhi: BCCI plans to begin the 2021-22 domestic season at the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament in September this year. We also assigned a three-month window to the Ranji Trophy from December after the marquee event last season was cancelled. COVID-19 Pandemic.

The 2020-21 season was a terrible cut-off season with only the National T20 (Mushtaq Ali) and ODI (Vijay Hazare Trophy) championships triggered by the pandemic. For women, only the national one-day tournament was held.

In the second wave of COVID-19 cases across India, BCCI hopes to continue the domestic season across age groups in the male and female categories, even after the contraction last season.

The Women’s T20 and ODI Challenger Trophy will not be played with versions of these events under the age of 23. Women under the age of 19 will also not play the T20 Challenger Trophy.
