He writes: “Apple is working on short-range and long-range wireless charging devices and envisions a future where all of Apple’s major devices can charge each other. The iPad charges the iPhone, then the iPhone charges the AirPods. Imagine that, or Apple Watch. “

He added that Apple is looking for both short-range and long-range wireless charging. This is far ahead of current inductive charging based products.

“Imagine an iPad charging an iPhone and then the iPhone charging an AirPods or Apple Watch,” Gourman adds.

Currently, iPhone manufacturers are selling MagSafe Duo wireless chargers that charge both iPhone and Apple Watch / AirPods at the same time.

Apple first announced AirPower in September 2017, alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. Apple said the rechargeable product will be available in 2018, but the company canceled the project in March 2019.

Cupertino-based tech giants envision “a future in which all of Apple’s major devices can recharge each other.”
