Amendment land law ridicules BJP’s cheesy politics, deception, says Omar Abdullah

Srinagar: Wednesday’s Vice President of the National Assembly, Omar Abdullah, accused the Center of amending land laws in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, claiming that the move struck BJP’s “cheap politics and deception.”

The former Prime Minister called the revised Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, which came into effect immediately, “hostile to the interests” of the people of Jammu and Kashmir Ladakh, and the amendment to the Land Ownership Act puts Union territory for sale.

“The enforcement of these new laws has made it easier to purchase non-farmland, and the tokenism of residence certificates has been abolished. These new laws are not accepted by the J & K people in Ladakh. “Hmm,” he said in a statement here.

Mr Omar also said the BJP did not challenge “opportunistic politics” and that the issuance of amended land rules was a smack of its “cheap politics and deception.”

“Interestingly, the center waited after the LAHDC (Ladakh Autonomous Mountain Development Council, Lee) election was over and the BJP won the majority until Ladakh also went on sale. This is Ladakh’s BJP. I got it to trust the guarantee, “he said.

He said the new law was the result of measures taken by the Center on August 5, last year, “without democratic support and significantly affecting the resentment and anger of the masses in the region.”

“This bill reflects an unnecessary breach of J & K’s people’s trust in dispensing that is brewed in a hatred of national diversity and democracy. This bill reflects the unique cultural identity of the region. It is also part of a larger design intended to be destroyed. That of Kashmir occasionally opens up the promises made by successive central governments, “he said.

“Such measures make it clear that it is not the desires of the people, but rather the land they want to hold, that is important to the ruling government in New Delhi,” Omar said.

Over a year after the invalidation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution, the Center paved the way for people outside Jammu and Kashmir to purchase Union Territory land by amending several laws. It was.

In a notice in the official bulletin, the Center omitted the phrase “permanent resident of the state” from section 17 of the Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, which deals with the disposal of land under federal territory.

Prior to the abolition of Articles 370 and 35-A in August last year, non-residents could not purchase real estate in Jammu and Kashmir. However, new changes have paved the way for non-residents to purchase land under Union Territory.

Meanwhile, CPI (M) leader and former lawmaker MY Tarigami also submitted an amendment to the BJP-led government, and in the name of “integration, development, security,” “land robbery between Japan and China.” “.
