AICTE to stop scholarships for PG students who left the course on the way

The All India Technical Education Council (AICTE) has written to all relevant universities for information about graduate scholars who left the course on the way. AICTE will stop paying scholarships to such students.

In the letter, the council stated that some institutions would delay providing information about such students, during which time fellowships would be released, but this is not permitted. The institute needs to update about such students on the online portal. If you encounter any issues during the process, you will need to mail the laboratory letterhead details to pgscholarship@aicte.india.org.

Students enrolled in GATE, GPAT, CEET and regular PG courses in AICTE-approved graduate programs are eligible for a 24-month monthly scholarship of Rs 12,400. Candidates enrolled in the Dual Degree Integrated Program will also be eligible for this scholarship from the 9th semester if they have at least 8 CGPA.

Students considering taking advantage of this scholarship program must enroll in a course such as a Master of Engineering, Master of Engineering, Master of Architecture, Master of Pharmacy, or Master of Design. Students selected for the PG Scholarship Program must conduct at least 8 to 10 hours of research and educational activities per week. These obligations have been assigned to them by the Institute. Scholarships are released monthly based on the candidate’s academic performance and compliance with AICTE standards.

During the scholarship program, candidates are entitled to several benefits, including 15 days of causal leave and up to 30 days of medical leave. In addition, there are provisions for maternity leave and childcare leave (if applicable) in accordance with the standards set by the Government of India.

The process of applying for enrollment in the PG Scholarship Program continues in 2021-22, and interested students can apply online from the portal pgscholarship.aicte-india.org. The final date for creating a login on the portal is December 31st, and students must complete the final application process by January 15th, 2022.
