After SBI, this bank will provide EMI functionality when purchasing a debit card

After India’s top lender, State Bank of India (SBI), IndusInd Bank launched the EMI (Equated Monthly Instalments) feature on debit cards. This helps customers transform high-value transactions into simple installations.

If you have a debit card, you can now purchase your favorite products from a wide range of categories and use the flexible EMI feature that allows you to easily pay in installments over a period of time. Charu Mathur, Chief Digital Officer and Head Business Strategy of IndusInd Bank, said:

IndusInd Bank debit cardholders can take advantage of this product purchase feature to select EMI options for periods of 3, 6, 9, 12, 18, and 24 months.

Customers can also verify their eligibility via SMS by typing MYOFR and sending it to 5676757.

How to convert what you purchased via SBI debit card to EMI

SBI provides EMI capabilities to customers using SBI debit cards to swipe their cards at POS to purchase durable goods from merchant stores. Customers can take advantage of debit card EMI and online EMI using the following steps:

  • Swipe the SBI debit card on the merchant store point-of-sale machine.
  • Choice-Brand EMI-Bank EMI
  • Enter-Amount-Payment period
  • After entering the PIN and the POS machine confirming eligibility[OK]Press
  • The loan amount is booked after a successful transaction
  • An invoice containing the loan terms and conditions is printed and the customer must sign on for the same
