Two separate accident Claim life
At least 20 people were killed and 18 were injured in two separate road accidents in Ragman, Afghanistan, according to a report on Saturday.
Both accidents occurred in the Qarghayi district over a span of 12 hours. One occurred near the village of Narinj Bagh, where a passenger bus collided with another vehicle. Eight people were killed and 10 were injured in the accident.
Another incident occurred near the village of Azizkarncats, killing 12 people and injuring 8 others.
The Governor’s Office said in a statement that the driver’s carelessness was behind the two incidents.
Taliban attack 2 dead, several injured
At least two Afghan civilians were killed and 30 injured in a “Taliban attack” at a Flag Day ceremony in the Yakubi district of Khost on Friday, according to the state government.
“The Taliban attack killed two civilians and injured another 30,” the Governor’s Office of Khost reported.
The Taliban did not comment on the incident.
Violence has intensified in Afghanistan in recent weeks as the Taliban intensified attacks on civilians, Afghanistan’s defense and security forces.
This is triggered by a drawdown of foreign troops from a war-torn country.
Over the past few weeks, they have occupied several areas of Afghanistan, including Takhar, a northeastern state of Afghanistan.
According to the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Taliban seized more than 193 district centers and 19 border districts.
The Taliban also controlled 10 border crossings nationwide in the provinces of Takar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Herat and Farah, completely halting the movement and trade of border crossings in these regions.
The ministry further revealed that since April 14, nearly 4,000 ANDSF personnel have been killed, more than 7,000 have been injured, and about 1,600 have been captured by the Taliban. As many as 2,000 civilians, including women and children, were killed in violence and 2,200 were injured.
