A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck Nepal.No damage reported: officials

Kathmandu: Two magnitude 4.7 earthquakes struck Nepal on Monday, but no immediate damage was reported, a senior official at the National Earthquake Research Center said.
The epicenter was felt in Central Nepal on Monday afternoon, dating back to the Panhun region of Sindhupalchok, 114 km east of Kathmandu.
“Central Nepal was hit by a twin earthquake today (Monday). The first tremor was felt at 1:46 pm and the second tremor was felt at the same location at 1.56 pm,” officials said. rice field.
“Both earthquakes had a magnitude of 4.7, but there were no immediate reports of the damage caused by the tremors,” they said.
In April 2015, a catastrophic earthquake of magnitude 7.8 struck Nepal, killing nearly 9,000 people and injuring nearly 22,000.
Over 800,000 homes and school buildings were also damaged.
