The new CR-V has a completely new design inside out
The Honda CR-V is one of the best-selling SUVs in the world, thanks to its immense popularity in North America and certain Asian markets. The Mid-Premium Crossover SUV has been in use for five generations since its launch in 1996, with the latest iteration scheduled for 2016. The current CR-V, which was remodeled in 2019, is nearing the end of its life cycle and is a next-generation model. I was caught in the test for the first time.
Next Generation Honda CR-V-What’s New?
A fully camouflaged prototype of the next-generation Honda CR-V has been tested and spyed at a European facility. Long range shooting shows the basic idea of the direction of designing a new model. The first thing you notice is the increase in size. The 2022 CR-V has an apparently long rear overhang in addition to a long, flat bonnet. The styling features edgy elements like other new Hondas.
Based on these new spy shots, Kleber Silva envisioned the rendering of the new 2022 Honda CRVS UV. The front fascia features a prominent trapezoidal grille with a large honeycomb mesh with narrow LED headlamps on the sides.
The profile is very similar to the 5th generation model, but the rear quarter glass is clearly larger to accommodate the increased length. Most of the size increase seems to have been spent allocating more space for third row occupants or luggage, depending on which side of the Atlantic it came from (US model 5). Only available in passenger configurations).
The profile shot also gives a glimpse of the interior of the next-generation Honda CR-V. Traditionally, the crossover features a stand-alone tablet-sized touchscreen infotainment system on top of the center console. As SUVs prepare to maintain their leadership position in an increasingly competitive environment, you can expect to have the latest design elements, improved materials, and more equipment.
The current CR-V is available for diesel motors in Europe and some other markets, but successors may discontinue it as it becomes increasingly difficult to comply with stringent emission standards. There is. It’s no surprise to see the petrol hybrid become a standard powertrain option with varying levels of power and torque output. If a pure electric version is included in the mix, it will be introduced in the future.
Will it come to India?
Honda Car India (HCIL) recently closed its Greater Noida plant, which housed the CKD business. This meant the Civic and CR-V were abolished as the company aimed to optimize production operations at its Tapkala facility.
Closing the CKD business is not a good sign for the prospect of launching the next generation CR-V in our market. HCIL is most likely to focus on the Hyundai Creta segment with the WR-V.
